Active particles with polar alignment in ring-shaped confinement

We study steady-state properties of active, nonchiral and chiral Brownian particles with polar alignment steric interactions confined within a ring-shaped confinement (annulus) in two dimensions. Exploring possible interplays between interparticle alignment, geometric the surface curvature, being incorporated here on minimal levels, we report surface-population reversal effect, whereby active migrate from outer concave boundary annulus to accumulate its inner convex boundary. This contrasts conventional picture, implying stronger accumulation boundaries relative ones. The population is caused by both particle disappearing when either these factors absent. explore ensuing consequences for chirality-induced current swim pressure analyze roles system parameters, such as mean number density self-propulsion, chirality, strengths.
